Detailed presentation of Fournos Lab

Legal status

Fournos Lab is a discrete title of activities of the non-profit company "Fournos Multivalent Communication Network", therefore the responsibility towards the law and the financial management is the responsible manager of the non-profit company "Multipurpose Communication Network Fournos" Theodora (Dodo) Santorinaiou. Manthos Santorineos is responsible for the artistic and scientific activities.

Structure

The function of Fournos lab is shaped and evolves through the combination of the projects it develops.

Each person has the possibility to propose a project [see below the requirements for proposing a project] The project is approved by the participators in the core group of Fournos Lab and Mantos Santorineos.

Depending on the specific characteristics of each project, an interdisciplinary - artistic team is formed that undertakes the conception and development of the project. This team has the scientific and artistic responsibility. The initial concern of the team is the definition of specific roles for the participants. The team has the form of an interdisciplinary and intercultural team of researchers at any research stage.

Each participant will have the obligation to propose a research topic of his/her interest, through which he/she will interact with the other participants in the group.

He/she will take part in meetings in real or virtual space for the development of the joint project and for decision making.

He will have the right to use the "space" of Fournos Lab theoretically [legally] and practically for his own project (upon request).

Narrative, with or without technical devices [as the central axis of human activities].

Research on the human being, [as the most developed form of the animal species], on the machine and on the relationship between them.

Evolution of the processes of artistic production due to the use of advanced technology

Recording and processing the new aesthetic and philosophical values in relation to the new language resulting from technological developments.

Texts in the form of printed or digital material or oral presentations at conferences or in various events. Also, texts destined to be transferred to a subsequent medium such as theatre, cinema or new media.

Rights - Obligations

There are two ways to join Fournos Lab: a) collaboration by projects or b) participation in the core group. There is also open access to the public.

Collaboration by Project

The basic rules of research projects apply which define the work, copyright, fees, etc. In any case, adjustments will be made with the consent of the participants.

Fees will apply if there is funding or subsequent sale or rental of the final product. Copyright applies as in any corresponding case.

Participation - Core Group

There is a small core team that has supported the operation of Fournos Lab since its inception. He participates in the actions and takes part in his decisions. This group multiplies according to the favorable coincidence of meetings and circumstances.

Open Access to the Public

Anyone can read the printed materials and view the audiovisual materials. They also have the possibility to participate in activities for the public or to discuss with the lab collaborators.

Important note: The Ideology of Fournos Lab is the “network”, the meeting, the cooperation and the dialogue as knowledge processing. It is not so much a space for project promotion or funding as a space for the cultivation of ideas and collaboration.
